Writing is one of the inventions that has most impacted humankind over time, but it was neither a global nor a synchronous change: ancient populations adopted different writing systems at different times. When does the oldest form of writing attested in our country date back? What was its origin? And what was its relationship with the other languages spoken in the Italian peninsula? What were its purposes? Through meaningful and accessible examples, students will explore the Venetic language, as revealed by the artifacts that still preserve its only traces.
