Selected from over 500 projects from across Italy, the funding will support the "MusTer – Luoghi Dialoghi" project, which will enhance the visitor experience and launch the creation of a distributed museum.

After weeks of waiting we can finally announce it: the Museum of Thermalism Antico e del Territorio of Montegrotto Terme is among the 28 winners of the Ministry of Culture's 2025 "Small Museums" Call for Proposals, selected from over 500 projects from all over Italy. The funding will support the “MusTer – Places Dialogues” project, with the aim of enhancing the visitor experience and launching the creation of a distributed museum that will strengthen the connection between the museum's heritage and the Euganean thermal area. This is all thanks to the support of numerous local partners.

Specifically, the immersive room will be redesigned with the addition of two new monitors featuring content dedicated to the specifics of the salso-bromo-iodine waters and thermal muds, as well as two 3D viewers offering a 360-degree augmented reality experience, allowing visitors to discover the mineralization process of the waters and their uses from ancient times to the present day.

Additionally, four immersive 360-degree video stories will be produced—with professional actors and musicians—set in a trachyte quarry, a thermal spring, a Roman archaeological site, and a freshwater spring, bringing the evocative landscape and history of the area into the museum. The project also includes enhancing the Villa Draghi Quarry – Buso dei Tassi geological site as the first stop on the open-air museum tour. This will include the creation of new signage, a GIS (Geographic Information System) map dedicated to the Euganean stone, and innovative content related to ongoing archaeological research.

We're proud to see our museum recognized as an active and evolving cultural institution, committed to combining tradition, research, and innovation to enhance and showcase the thermal and landscape heritage of the Euganean Hills in increasingly accessible and engaging ways...and of course, we'll keep you updated on all the latest News!
