A symbolic and immersive journey that connects the public with the place that hosts them and accompanies them on a journey of discovery of the museum spaces and the heritage it preserves.
Not a theater hall or a curtain that opens in front of an audience, but a place of history and culture, our museum, which comes to life and becomes a stage, and where the audience becomes the protagonist. This is what the site-specific show “Sull'Acqua”, which on Sunday 28 September (following postponement due to forecasted bad weather), at 8.30 pm, will welcome citizens and tourists to Museum of Thermalism antico And del territorio of Montegrotto Terme.
Designed by Top theaters off Padua and produced in partnership with the Municipality of Montegrotto Terme and with the collaboration of the cultural association Lapis, the show transforms the theatre into an immersive and collective experience: the traditional frontal fruition modality, in fact, gives way here to a symbolic and immersive journey, which connects the public with the place that hosts and accompanies them In a journey of discovery through the museum's spaces and the heritage it houses, spectators become participants in a shared experience, where history, culture, and memory intertwine with the evocative power of performing arts, which here integrates live theater and video projections, music and spoken word.
On stage, the real one and the digital one, they are the actors Erica Taffara, Gianni Bozza, and Pierantonio Rizzato And Loris Contarini, accompanied by live music from Paul Valentini. Dramaturgy, scenography, lighting, video, and direction are by Top theaters off Padua.
In a dimension suspended between memory and the present, four emblematic figures find themselves mysteriously drawn by water, an invisible force and silent protagonist. Between idealism and cynicism, prophecy and hope, the characters meet and exchange views in the museum's rooms, transformed into immersive spaces filled with sounds, voices, and images. The thermal water, which dissolves into steam as it rises, thus becomes a living metaphor: it is both memory and ancestral voice, therapy and cure, conflict and a mirror of the crisis of our present.
“On the water” was born in the context of Thaleia, a network project for the promotion of sustainable, local, cultural and experiential tourism in the Padua area and the region.
